Re: LETTER OF REFERENCE - MRS. JI-YEON (SUNNY) CHUNG
It is my pleasure to write this letter of reference in support of Mrs. Ji-Yeon (Sunny) Chung. Mrs. Chung has been volunteering at Frank J Ney Elementary with Brianne De Verteuil, where she is responsible for students from grades K-7 within the music program. Although Mrs. Chung and myself have not worked very closely together much, I was able to work with her and observe here a few times since becoming a TTOC in January.
Mrs. Chung has an excellent interpersonal skill, combined with a very positive and contagious presence that has been instrumental in winning the respect of the students, colleagues, and parents throughout the school community. She is genuinely interested in the well-being of all students and works effectively with all aspects of learning. Mrs. Chung shows increasing adaptability to new situations takes pride in her work, is eager to learn, and is highly goal-oriented. She is a conscientious, caring and a dedicated teacher who works very hard to ensure that quality instruction occurs in her classroom.
Mrs. Chung has devoted many hours to prepare herself to get back in the teaching field and to the preparation of the music departments both past and future events, a good example being their upcoming musical in May. She has an excellent sense of time and shows that with her pacing of class lessons, allowing time for questions, comments, and time to go over the information a second (or third) time. Mrs. Chung's abilities are also shown through the amount of reflection she does. She is constantly reflecting and adapting between lessons, reflecting with the teacher while looking for feedback, and self-reflection afterward. She has a wonderful sense of humor, which is a critical quality needed in any teacher.
In summary, Mrs. Chung is a responsible and conscientious individual, working continuously with students, and effectively. She is a valuable member of the music program and is valued for her contributions in this regard. In my opinion, Mrs. Chung has a strong work ethic and significant interpersonal and leadership skills to contribute and engage in a teaching role.
