When a school cancels its Christmas concert due to heavy workloads and lack of time, an overwhelmed class decides to put on their own show to praise God. Their teacher gives them a special cross that glows only when their hearts are filled with true gratitude and worship.

However, a mischievous character called The Distractor tempts the students with flashy props and competitive performances. Despite their high-energy routines, the cross stays dark because they are performing for pride and attention rather than God. When the teacher helps them realize that true worship means giving their hearts completely to Him, the students sing songs of surrender, and the cross finally begins to glow brightly.

(Teacher leaves, and right away, they lose their composure)

Daniel, Jio K, Jio L:  Another Test!  

Everyone:  Ah~~~ 

Rowun, Jaeyi, Peter:  Too much work!  

Eric, Rani, Ariel:  After school, I have to go to 2 academies!

Chloe, Haram, Jungwoo:  You are lucky. I go to 4

Teacher Bella:  Open your Math book to page 20. 

(students open their books) 

Teacher Bella:  Oh, by the way, This year’s Christmas concert is not going to happen.  We just don’t have the time for silly songs and dances.  

(students gasp, and their eyes widen in disbelief.  

Another teacher walks up to the stage and knocks at the door)

Ms Chung:  Ms. Kim,  May I have a word with you?

Teacher Bella:  Oh yes, Mrs. Chung, certainly.
(talks to the teacher. And looks at the students)   

Class, make sure you finish pages 20, 21, 22, and 23, and 24, oh..., and 25.  That’s all~  

(Teachers off the stage)

Daniel: Oh my goodness... she’s working us to death!

Rowun: Who cares about that right now? Did you not hear what she just said? No Christmas Concert!

Jinwoo: I know... I was so looking forward to our celebration.

Ron: Me too. That was the only thing keeping me going...

Eric, Rani, Ariel: I can’t believe she canceled the Christmas Concert on us! This is so sad...

Chloe, Haram, Jungwoo: Our White Christmas is ruined...

Everyone: Oh no...!

Ron, Yubeen, Lilian:
But they did not stay sad.

Jiwoo: Christian, I heard you are a Christ follower.   We want to put on our own concert—one that will really, really please God!

Christian Jinwoo: Oh~ What a wonderful idea! Look here—I have a special gift for you: the Cross!

(Teacher places a glowing star prop on the stage.)

Christian Rani: This special cross has a special power. 

Christian Daniel:  When your hearts are filled with true grateful heart and you offer God true worship through the way you live, the cross will shine brightly! 

이 특별한 십자가에는 특별한 힘이 있단다. 너희의 마음이 진정한 감사함으로 가득하고 하나님께 진정한 삶의 예배를 드릴 때, 십자가가 환하게 빛난단다!

(Teacher steps offstage and watches.)

Ron, Yubeen, Lilian:  Awesome! Let’s start our concert to praise God!

Everyone:  Yes, let's do that!!~~~

Ooooh~~ I wish we could give our best performance to God!

Yes~ And you know what? I wish many people would come and join our praise, too! 

Jane, Chloe, Haram, Jungwoo:  
Yes! Me too!  So we need to make it really, really special!

Ron, Yubeen, Lilian:  
Yes! We need amazing music!

Jio L, Jio K, Jiwoo, Jaeyi, Peter: 
And awesome dancing!

Eric, Ariel, Chaemin: And maybe some really cool costumes!

Jane, Chloe, Haram, Jungwoo: 
I want to do the biggest dance!

Ron, Yubeen, Lilian:    
And I want to sing the loudest!

(The students excitedly begin preparing. Some pretend to practice singing, some dance, some arrange imaginary instruments.)

Ron:  Hey, hear me out.  We want as many people as possible to hear our praise, too, right?

Everyone:  Right..

Ron:  So... what should we do? 

Jane: Let's add a bit of Christmas spirit through carols we all know and love! 

Jio L, Jio K, Jiwoo, Jaeyi, Peter:  Ah ha~ That's a good idea!

Everyone (J4P don't do it):
Yeah~ Let's do that! 

Eric, Ariel, Chaemin:
Which carol should we do then? 

Everyone: Hm.......  (count 1, 2, 3, 4)

Ron, Yubeen, Lilian: 
How about Jingle Bells? 

Jiwoo:  Everyone knows Jingle Bells. I think that's an awesome idea!

Everyone: Let's go!  Jingle Bell~

(At the end, everyone strikes a dramatic pose.)

(They look at the cross.)

Chaemin, Bella Jane:
Wow~ We were good!

Ron, Yubeen, Lilian, Eugene, Jinwoo: 

Yeah~ We were impeccable!

Daniel:   See? Many people came to see us and they clapped for us, 

Jane, Chloe, Haram, Jungwoo:  
and they were cheerful.
 

Ron:  I think it's because we added Christmas spirit to our concert! 

Student: That's right, our performance was a success... So, is the cross lighting up?

(Everyone waits.)

BOYS ALL:  ...Nothing?  (The cross stays dark.)

Everyone:  Hmm...

Rosie:  Maybe we weren't loud enough!

Everyone: Let's try again!

Student:  We have to make a dazzling SHOW! 

(A cheerful, mischievous character sneaks onto the stage. The Distractor carries or wears something shiny—perhaps a giant sparkly star, glittery sunglasses, or a bag of colorful props.)

Distractor Ron:  Did somebody say... SHOW?!

Everyone:  Who are you?

Distractor Ariel, Lilian:  Us? We are the Distractor!  (Big playful pose.)

Distractor Ron:  And we know exactly how to make your concert AMAZING!

Everyone:  Really?

Distractor ALL:  Of course!

(Distractor pulls out a shiny object.)

Distractor Lilian:  Look at this!

(The students gasp and gather around.)

Distractor Ariel:  Wouldn't this look AMAZING on stage?

Everyone:  Wow!

Distractor Lilian:  And look at this!  (Another shiny prop.)

Everyone:  Whoa!

(The children become increasingly distracted.)

Distractor Ron:
Forget the boring old cross. Look at all these cool things!

(The children begin playing with the objects.)

Jane, Chloe, Haram, Jungwoo:
Hey! I want that one!

Jiwoo, Rowun, Jaeyi, Peter:  Me too~

Me too~

Eric, Rani, Chaemin, Bella:  No! I saw it first!

(The Distractor laughs.)

Jio L, Jio K, Daniel:  Hey~ We look amazing!

Yubeen, Eugene, Jinwoo:  Yeah~~ This is how to do a concert!

Jio L, Jio K, Daniel, Yoohyun, Jiwoo, Rowun, Jaeyi, Peter:

(Distractors, take off the black halo and scarf and join the dance)

(Students laugh and perform increasingly exaggerated “show-off” poses.)

(At the end, everyone looks toward the cross.)

Wow~ We were amazing!

Eugene, Jiwoo,  Jane, Jinwoo, Rowun, Chloe, Jaeyi, Haram, Peter, Jungwoo:
We were impeccable!

Daniel: 

See? With our dances and costumes, everyone is cheering for us!

Jinwoo:  That's right, it couldn't be better!

Eugene, Yoohyun, Jiwoo, Chaemin, Bella, Jane:  

So, is the cross lighting up?

(Everyone looks to the Window side)

Jio L, Jio K, Daniel, Eric, Rani:  ...Nothing?  (The cross stays dark.)

Everyone:  Hmm...

Jinwoo, Eugene, Yubeen:  Why isn't it lighting up?

Chaemin, Bella, Jane:
Maybe we need an even bigger performance!

Distractor Ron: Exactly! Although the earlier dance was amazing, you just need an extra spark!

Everyone:  Extra spark?

Distractor Lilian: Show yourself more! Show the world what you can do!

Daniel, Yoohyun: Wait... Are you sure this is what God would like? 

Jiwoo, Rowun:  Guys, remember? We were going to make a Christmas concert to praise God~

Distractor Ron: Ohhhh... Don't be boring. Who will come and watch a boring show?

Distractor Lilian, Ariel: If you want people to worship God with you, you have to make the worship service more fit for the world.

Distractor Ron: World-band style, high-quality music, messages that will make them feel better... then people will be amazed.

Distractor Ariel: If people love it, and more come to join and watch you, I'm sure your God will be pleased, too.

Yubeen, Eugene, Jinwoo:  Distractor is right.  God will love many people being here.  

Jio L, Jio K, Daniel, Yoohyun: Yeah... we just need to try harder and give it our best!

Jiwoo, Rowun, Jaeyi, Peter: Well, in that case, I'll sing the solo because I'm a good singer!

Bella, Jane:  No, I'll sing the solo!

Daniel, Yoohyun:  I can dance better!

Jinwoo:  Watch MY dance!

(They begin competing.)

Student:  Look I can do the cartwheel~

Eugene, Yubeen:  I can sing higher!

Rowun:  I can dance faster!

I can jump higher!

(The competition becomes funny and chaotic.)

Daniel:  No no no. I will make people clap with my cool moves.

(The Distractor encourages them)

Distractor Ariel, Lilian:  Louder!

Everyone:  Louder!

(Class => Go wild!)
(Christinas Leave the stage => Put on the white scarf around your shoulder)

Christian: (Christian enters quietly.)

Everyone: (Everyone freezes.)

Christian Yoohyun, Bella, Rowun:  What is going on?

Yubeen:  We're trying really hard!

Jio L, Jio K, Eric, Chaemin:  We're singing!

Jane, Chloe, Haram, Jungwoo:  We're dancing!

Jiwoo, Jaeyi, Peter:   We're making it exciting!

Christian Daniel, Rani:  Well, I can see that.

(She looks at the cross.)

Christian Eugen, Jinwoo:  But who are you doing this for?

(The students look at one another.)

Everyone:  Um... (count 1, 2, 3, 4)

Christian Yoohyun, Bella, Eugen:  I thought you were trying to give God your best concert.

(Silence. count 1, 2, 3, 4)

Yubeen, Jio L, Jio K, Eric:  I was thinking about my dance.

Jiwoo, Chaemin, Jane:  I was thinking about whether everyone was watching me.

Chloe, Jaeyi, Peter, Haram, Jungwoo:
I wanted people to clap.

Yubeen:
I wanted to be the best singer.

(The Distractor slowly tries to sneak away.)

Christian Daniel, Rani:  
And what about you, Distractor?

(Distractor freezes.)

Distractor ALL:  U~~~S?

Christian Yoohyun, Bella, Eugene:  These kids had nothing but good hearts for God. How did you trick them?

Distractor Ron:
Oh, it was easy!
I just made them think of their favorite subject: themselves! 

Distractor Lilian:  I took their desire to worship God and twisted it into a desire to show off. 

Distractor Ariel: I made them believe that a bigger crowd meant it was God's approval.

Distractor Ron: I made them think: Me, me, me! under the disguise of their God.  

Distractor ALL: 
Our mission is simple. To make them think only of themselves. Let them think: Me! Me! Me! 

Christian Yoohyun, Bella, Eugene:
Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Gather around. 

Christian Daniel, Rani:
There's nothing wrong with beautiful music.

There's nothing wrong with dancing.

But praise worship isn't about making ourselves look amazing.  Or pleasing others.

Worship is giving our hearts to God.

When we sing, we can sing for God.

(The Cross begins to glow.)

(The Cross becomes brighter.)

(The children cheer)
